In 2025, the German Lung Foundation (Deutsche Lungenstiftung e. V.) will award the "German Dissertation Prize in Pulmonology" for the 28th time to promote young scientists. The prize is awarded for the best clinical and the best experimental dissertation in the entire field of pulmonology. DGP Research Awards 2025

The German Respiratory Society (DGP) supports exceptional achievements in pulmonary research with two prestigious awards:

  • DGP Research Award for Clinical Medicine for the best work in one of the following areas: Pulmonary Diagnostics, Therapy, Prevention, Rehabilitation.
  • DGP Research Award for Experimental Medicine for the best basic science research within the field of pulmonology.

These awards aim to recognize outstanding pulmonary research publications and to support the early stages of scientific careers in pulmonary research. Each award is valued at €10,000. The awards will be presented at the 2025 DGP Congress in Leipzig.

Aplha1 Science Awards: Research Grants for Clinicians and Scientists

CSL Behring is once again awarding the Alpha1 Science Awards to emerging clinicians and scientists conducting research on Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. These awards aim to support innovative projects that improve the lives of Alpha-1 patients. Eligible applicants must have completed their academic studies, be in the early stages of their careers, and have less than 5 years of research or clinical experience. Prizes of €5,000 each will be awarded for basic research and clinical projects from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
