Werner Seeger receives prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at ATS congress

At this year's American Thoracic Society (ATS) congress in San Diego, Prof Werner Seeger, Founding Director of the ILH, received the prestigious Robert F. Grover Award for his life's work in the field of pulmonary hypertension (PH) research. Prof Soni Pullamsetti, an ILH researcher at Justus Liebig University Giessen, gave the laudatory speech. The Robert F. Grover Prize is given annually "For outstanding contributions to the study of the effects of hypoxia and high altitude on the pulmonary circulation."

Prof Mareike Lehmann, an ILH researcher from the Institute of Lung Research at Philipps University Marburg, was recognized with the Carol Basbaum Award in San Diego. This prestigious award is dedicated to young scientists who have demonstrated exceptional scientific achievements, mentorship skills, and leadership potential in cell and molecular biology of the respiratory tract.
